Overview



The MFWD-6.0/(25~45)-45 is a reliable reciprocating piston natural gas compressor designed for efficient natural gas compression scenarios. It is engineered to meet the operational requirements of industries dependent on stable natural gas compression, with a nominal volumetric flow rate of 6.0 m³/min, ensuring efficient handling of natural gas under specified working conditions.


It operates with an inlet pressure ranging from 2.5 to 4.5 MPa.G and an inlet temperature of 30℃, while delivering a steady exhaust pressure of 4.5 MPa.G. Equipped with a 250 kW main motor (model YBX3-355L3-8), the compressor guarantees consistent and stable performance during long-term operation. The overall dimensions of the machine are approximately 6500 × 3000 × 3200 mm and the whole machine weight is around 17 T, making it suitable for fixed installation with a foundation in industrial sites.


This compressor is widely applicable in natural gas transmission and processing systems to maintain stable gas pressure, oil and gas field associated gas recovery for resource utilization, natural gas storage and transportation stations to ensure gas supply stability, and small to medium-sized industrial gas supply systems to meet the demand for compressed natural gas in production processes.

High Operational Stability and Safety


The compressor adopts an M-type (symmetrically balanced) four-cylinder structure with first-stage compression, which effectively balances operational inertia and reduces mechanical vibration, conforming to the requirements of GB/T7777-2003. Its strong operational stability ensures continuous and reliable operation under all designed working conditions, minimizing shutdowns caused by equipment faults. The cylinder and packing use oil-free lubrication structures, avoiding oil contamination of natural gas and enhancing the safety of gas use.


Low Maintenance Cost and User-Friendly Operation


The compressor has well-designed vulnerable parts (such as piston rings, guide rings, and packing) with a service life of no less than 8000 hours, reducing the frequency of part replacement and lowering maintenance costs. It is equipped with an explosion-proof control cabinet integrated with a Siemens Smart-200 PLC and a 7-inch Weinview color touchscreen, enabling real-time display of operating parameters, fault recording, and remote control, simplifying operation even for operators with basic professional knowledge.


Convenient Integrated Installation and Transportation


The compressor, along with its auxiliary equipment (including cooling systems, lubrication systems, and instrument systems), is fully installed on an integral skid-mounted base. This skid-mounted design not only ensures the compact layout and stable connection of all components but also greatly facilitates transportation and on-site installation. It can be quickly positioned and fixed on the prefabricated foundation, saving on-site construction time and labor costs.


Durable and High-Quality Component Design


Key components of the compressor are made of high-quality materials: the crankcase and middle body are cast from HT250, ensuring excellent structural strength and wear resistance; the crankshaft is made of 45# steel with surface carburizing treatment to improve fatigue resistance and service life; the cylinder is made of QT600-3, which has good pressure-bearing capacity. Additionally, the cylinder inlet and exhaust ports are arranged in an upper-inlet and lower-outlet manner to prevent liquid accumulation and liquid hammer, further enhancing the safety and durability of the equipment.

Whole Machine Description


The compressor adopts M-type (symmetrical balance type), forced air-cooled, oil-free lubrication for cylinders and packing, reciprocating piston type, 4-row 1-stage compression, and the entire unit is supplied in a skid-mounted manner.


The compressor crankcase is made of HT250 (gray cast iron) through integral casting, with two flange faces on each side for installing the middle body. The bottom of the crankcase serves as a lubricating oil sump, capable of storing approximately 100L of lubricating oil to supply oil for the compressor's moving parts; the upper surface of the crankcase is equipped with an upper cover plate with a breather cap, which can be unscrewed when adding oil; in addition, the crankcase is also configured with functional interfaces such as an oil level gauge installation port, bearing temperature sensor installation port, and oil drain port. The oil drain port of the crankcase is connected to the outside of the metal hood and is equipped with a matching valve for draining waste oil from the crankcase during maintenance.


The middle body of the compressor is made of HT250 casting, with one end connected to the crankcase and the other end connected to the cylinder. It ensures stable guiding of the crosshead movement and bears the lateral force and gravity of the crosshead. The middle body is designed with two large and small windows on each side: the large window is used for disassembling and assembling the crosshead, and the small window is for disassembling and assembling the connecting nuts between the cylinder and the middle body; meanwhile, the middle body is also provided with interfaces for packing oil injection, cooling, air extraction, and oil contamination discharge. The compressor cylinder is made of QT600-3, adopting an oil-free lubrication design that relies on the solid lubricating film formed by the PTFE-filled guide rings and piston rings to avoid medium contamination, and no additional oil lubrication is required. The cylinder head is made of QT600-3, and the air valves (with stainless steel valve plates) adopt a popular mesh structure, with the cylinder inlet and exhaust ports arranged in an upper-inlet and lower-outlet manner to prevent liquid accumulation and liquid hammer.

FAQ


What is the lubrication method adopted by the compressor, and what are the requirements for lubricating oil?


The compressor adopts a combined lubrication method: the crankshaft, connecting rod, and crosshead (oil-lubricated parts) use pressure lubrication through a gear oil pump, while the cylinder and packing (oil-free lubricated parts) rely on the ultra-thin solid lubricating film formed by PTFE-filled guide rings and piston rings to achieve self-lubrication without additional oil injection. For lubricating oil, mechanical lubricating oil L-DAB150 should be used when the ambient temperature is higher than 5℃, and mechanical lubricating oil L-DAB100 should be used when the ambient temperature is lower than 5℃; the oil change cycle is generally twice a year (swapped once in winter and summer), and the first oil change should be carried out after the compressor is used for 200 hours initially.


What protection functions does the compressor's control system have to ensure safe operation?


The compressor's explosion-proof control cabinet (equipped with a Siemens Smart-200 PLC and a 7-inch Weinview color touchscreen) has multiple protection functions for safe operation. It can monitor and protect against motor overload and short circuit; for the compressor itself, it can display, alarm, and trigger shutdown protection for abnormal lubricating oil pressure, inlet pressure, exhaust pressure, and exhaust temperature. Specifically, it alarms when the inlet pressure is low (L) and shuts down when it is extremely low (LL); alarms when the exhaust pressure is high (H) and shuts down when it is extremely high (HH); alarms when the lubricating oil pressure is low (L) and shuts down when it is extremely low (LL); and alarms when the exhaust temperature is high (H), effectively avoiding equipment damage caused by abnormal working conditions.


What is the warranty period of the compressor, and what after-sales services are provided?


The warranty period of the compressor is 12 months after the equipment is delivered to the site and commissioned successfully, or 18 months after the equipment is delivered to the site, whichever comes first. During the warranty period, if the equipment is damaged or fails to work normally due to manufacturing or design issues, the seller will be responsible for free replacement or repair (note: equipment failures caused by natural disasters, improper manual operation, or wear of vulnerable parts are not covered by the warranty). In terms of after-sales service, the seller provides lifelong after-sales service for the equipment; when emergency maintenance is required, the seller will respond within 12 hours after receiving the buyer's on-site service request, and arrange personnel to arrive at the site within 24 hours for distances within 500 kilometers and within 48 hours for distances within 1000 kilometers.
